What can I expect during a Portrait Session at Varitay Studios?
At Varitay Studios, we offer a truly special experience with personalized attention, expert photography, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. From the moment you arrive, we make you feel unique and comfortable, helping to ease any pre-shoot nerves.

What services does Varitay offer for Lifestyle Portraits?
At Varitay Studios, we specialize in lifestyle, family, and senior portraits that highlight your family’s unique personality. We capture both group shots and individual portraits if requested. We also assist with printing and framing to ensure your portraits are beautifully displayed.
Where can I have my Senior Portraits taken?
We like to start our senior portrait sessions at our studio, capturing great shots with versatile backdrops and beautiful natural light from our eastern and western facing windows. We’ll also take some urban shots around the studio. The session lasts up to 90 minutes.
Alternatively, we can shoot at a location of your choice. If you’re unsure, we can embark on a photo safari, letting the surroundings inspire us and guide the artistic process. We love incorporating your ideas, so feel free to share any photography you admire or specific shots you want. Some unique locations we’ve worked at include North Beach, the Windpoint Lighthouse, Hawthorne Hollow, For the Love of Flowers farm, Racine Art Museum, Wustum Museum of Fine Arts, and local golf courses or sports fields.
What happens after my Portrait Session?
After your portrait session, we’ll schedule an ordering appointment, which typically takes about an hour. During this appointment, we’ll review your photos, discuss your desired package, and help you choose the best options. We aim to make this process easy and stress-free, working within your budget and offering suggestions to suit your needs.
Within one week, your final photo gallery will be available for download through our online platform, which also includes printing services. This makes it simple to order enlargements, framing, and other products to showcase your beautiful images. Our portrait packages include a digital download link, print credit, and free shipping.
Which package should I choose?
At Varitay Studios, the typical process is to schedule your shoot and select your package during the ordering appointment. It can be difficult to choose the right package before seeing your proofs, as many clients are so impressed by their images that they end up upgrading to a larger package afterward.
For Senior and Family Portraits, the pricing is structured in collections:
- Collection 1: $1,800 for 30 images ($60/image)
- Collection 2: $1,200 for 15 images ($80/image)
- Collection 3: $720 for 8 images ($90/image)
- Collection 4: $480 for 4 images ($120/image)
After reviewing your proofs, you can adjust your order to select the collection that best suits your preferences.
When the images are delivered to you in your order gallery, we will also give you a print credit and free shipping credit to order prints from our print partner site. We want you to display the images in your home and cherish them for years to come.
What do I need to do to prepare for my Portrait Session?
Remember we are experts, and you do not have to stress about the session (even though you still will!). At minimum, come as you are, and we’ll make it work. For those who want to be a bit more prepared, here’s what we suggest:
Clothing: Bring a variety of outfits to the shoot. Include something classic and simple, something fun that shows off your style, as well as options that are casual and more formal. At the beginning of the session, we’ll go through your wardrobe together and plan the shoot around your outfits, backdrops, and locations.
Sleep and Water: Aim for a good night’s sleep before your session and come well-hydrated. Avoid any wild nights out the evening before!
Makeup and Hair: We love capturing you as your natural self, but if you’d like to enhance your look, we offer hair and makeup services for an additional cost. For women, we recommend avoiding heavy highlighting makeup, as it can reflect under studio lights and may not photograph well. For men, a fresh shave and grooming are always appreciated.
Parking and Entrance: There is metered parking on Main Street—don’t forget to plug the meter or use our parking app Passport. Our front door is locked, so when you arrive, please text us: Cam at 262-498-4075 or Jean at 262-664-3770, and we will come down to let you in!
I forgot to download my Gallery can you reactivate it for me?
We can reactivate the galleries and we keep your original images safe and backed up on cloud storage for years. We do encourage you to download the images within two weeks because our service only hosts so many images at one time.

I AM IN! How do I book a session?
To book a session or discuss your goals with Varitay, please fill out the contact form on our website or email us at [email protected]. Once we receive your inquiry, we’ll send you the pricing details and our scheduling calendar so you can select the time and date that works best for you. Please note that payment is required to confirm your session date.
We will also send out reminders before your session. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
